Whenever you say "stoopid" or "phat" an English teacher weeps.
What's the downside? :P

if you write "stoopid", or "phat" in the presence of an English Teacher, odds are you will suffer a wall face altercation...

Except that "phat" isn't a misspelling of anything. It just is.

And misspelling the title of a strip can and has happened before; it's probably retyped from memory 90% of the time anyway.

I've certainly never heard "phat" used as a synonym for "fat" or vice versa. The former may have been inspired by the latter, but I consider them mere homophones.

But you shouldn't say "phat" anyway these days, unless you mean it ironically. (Sorry, I don't have the patience to find that strip where Avery tells Timulty not to say "radical" without irony.)

If there was a smiley that combined disbelief and disdain I would seriously consider using it. In the interim, you'll have to settle for :? which only looks sorta disdainful if you squint.
