Square button. It doesn't 'click'. And, the right directional button isn't a button, it's a componant of a dpad, which isn't really a button. It's kinda a switch which depending on the direction pressed determins which of x directions are mapped to. a d-pad is one unit rather than four buttons.
Now that's being technical. For all design purposes, it's still a separate button with symmetry to the Square button across the Y-axis. Yet that's beside the point.

If the square button doesn't click when pressed, then the PSP has a broken button, and isn't related to the design of it. Unless you mean "click" design wise, in which case it can still be gotten used to.

If it was 'buttons' you'd have a point. But it isn't. It's 'button'.
Alright. Which button?

The Square button is about as far from the screen as the right directional button.
It's six pixels closer in that image.

That's either just from the picture, or it's the reason why I said about as far. The difference seems to me to be negligible.

It's noticeable to me (though I had to zoom in to get the actual measurements; the arrow is 33% further away). And that's just the outer edge. The arrow seems to be longer as well.

no, that button is a lot closer to the screen, especially since it's such a small thing anyway.

No, it's not being technical. The PSP seems to have a d-pad that's like the d-pads of old rather than the Dual Shock's four button ones. As in - one unit rather than four seperate units.
If the square button doesn't click when pressed, then the PSP has a broken button, and isn't related to the design of it. Unless you mean "click" design wise, in which case it can still be gotten used to.
I mean design wise. Also, the button is looser. The other buttons have a definite difference to feel between pressed and not-pressed. The square button does not.

Then it's a design flaw in the system, though still not one large enough to bring down the overall worth and capabilities of the system.

It's large enough to frustrate gamers and developers, though (there were enough complaints about it for Sony to officially state that it was a design feature rather than a flaw).

And just because it's possable to get used to something doesn't mean it's a good thing. It's possable to get used to the gamecube's z button, for example. And sort of possable to get used to the gamecube's d-pad but... Not really possable to use it.

Sadly, not enough of them to cause SONY to recall the PSP and/or actually alter the design. I'm not saying that's it's good, yet that it's what anyone that buys a PSP currently has to get used to use it. If you don't think you could or don't want, then you don't buy it.

Which was the reason why I said "About as far from the screen."

Enough of them for them to release a very defensive public statement, though.

Which does nothing to actually alter it. As it stands, those that like/want the PSP have to deal with it. And they have, which is why it actually sells. Not sells all that good, mind you, yet sells nonetheless. Sony is not above making mistakes; none of the current big three (Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft) are.
