Bah, if he hasn't been syndicated in this long, I don't think there's much hope - also, a single strip won't mean much to an editor, who can demand he change or remove any strip or character he wants.

Also, Isolde's tongue is kinda scary. >.>

I sorta think he passed the syndication point of no return long ago. You know: when he was original and had ongoing stories and more than ten jokes?

I don't think that it's too explicit for syndication, since Millie wasn't referring to Ozy's crotch (I think that you people are forgetting the clean half of the gag about him being a hare krishna?) and it never specifically says anything inappropriate. There's really worse stuff that he could do. Anyone that you think is too young to see this would not even understand the joke, so what is the harm?

DCS should've ended the comic a year or two ago.

Well, I don't like it when I compare it to the other strips, which I'd feel safe showing a five-year-old, but that's me. All that I'm saying is that it looks like DCS is going to have even more trouble getting syndicated.
Not when this strip (and maybe a couple other select ones) conveniently disappear from the archives right before he shows off his strip to the newspapers. ;)

I'm not sure what DCS what think of this, but I think that O&M is much better for having not been syndicated. It's little touches like referencing events that happened years ago ("I once had an affair with a couch pirate" comes to mind) that I enjoy about this comic, and things like that couldn't be done in syndication; you couldn't expect anyone to understand what Ms. Mudd's talking about. (And in the case where someone is new to the comic and doesn't get it, they can go look it up, another thing that syndication makes more difficult.)

Uhhh... there's quite a difference between Buddhism and Hare Krishna. I don't think Christians and Muslims would much like being mistaken for each other either, even though they're both monotheistic and "People of the Book."

Just goes to show how monotheism seems to me a lot more violent. I wonder why that is?

Maybe it has something with having all of your belief focused on one god.

In monotheism if someone criticizes one of your gods you can always say "yeah? You may not believ in that one, but theres a dozen more to choose from."

...That's polytheism. Monotheism is the one God thing.

...Of course, lets not mention that parts of the Bible can be read as implying the existence of multiple gods...

Oops. I had meant polytheism but my brain died halfway through posting. You win a correction brownie. Spend it wisely.

I didn't look at the strip, and thought that people had made reference to the strip calling him a Hare Krishna instead of a Buddhist. My apologies. And, what's the difference between Muslims and Christians?
