Yeah it seems a bit ironic they chose the most likely to get hacked buliten board software of all the ones I know of.

And what's even more "interesting" is that this came after I made several lengthy posts detailing different forum platforms, and said many times that phpBB is exceptionally prone to hacking even if patches are kept up to date. Having dealt with phpBB and its issues for several years now, I'd like to think I know what I'm talking about.

Over the life of this board, I've been passed up for multiple staff positions, ignored in times of trouble, and generally cast aside. This is the last straw, and this will be my last post here. Good luck, folks.

I can only reiterate the opinions about your leaving already expressed on this page.

In fact, if I were to express mine, it would pretty much be identical to Rooster's, only in my words rather than his.

Not to be cynical, but he'll probably come back.
Who sleeps shall awake, greeting the shadows from the sun
Who sleeps shall awake, looking through the window of our lives
Waiting for the moment to arrive...
Show us the silence in the rise,
So that we may someday understand...

You can stop your "they they they" because I am the one who decided on phpbb, no one else. Say what you want about it.

Felix I'm sorry that you feel ignored and have such a deep-seated grudge against phpbb. But if pushing your professional advice was your only cause for being a part of this community, then leaving is probably your best option.

You being appointed as admin is the worst thing to happen to this community since I've been here. A real administrator would have switched to a different board (one with current patches) after the first hacking incident, instead of leaving us vulnerable and allowing such a massive chunk of forum history to be lost. I tried to help, I gave plenty of suggestions, and I wasn't even acknowledged. I also have significant experience with phpBB, and it's the only platform I've seen that gets hacked as fast as it does.

So, fine, you want to use phpBB. I can deal with that. The fact that you and 5hfifty ignored me every time I suggested a fix for the hacking problem is what irritates me, as well as moving to another platform without saying anything to the users. This is a team effort, and the "I'm the admin, so we're doing it my way" attitude is what makes you a poor leader.
