On DCS's LJ, he said this:

Quote:

They won't be out for a while yet, but here are the working covers of the two O&M books I've been working on:

Quote:

I won't have enough new material for a book for at least a year, but, given the scarcity that has afflicted the older books for some time now, and the fact that, what with having moved to a new size, the books will need to be repackaged at three strips to a page anyhow (thus affecting the number of strips that will fit in a book), I thought it was time to, at last, try and cram everything from O&M's earliest days up to the April 2000 style redesign into a single book.

And, I also figured, given that there are quite a few O&M collections by this time, there should be one book of which it can be said "if you're going to own only one, this should be it." If it were up to me everyone would just buy everything, but given that I know there are a certain number of fans who would probably buy one $10 book but not six $13 books, I figured I'd make more money if I bowed to this reality.

Shiny

I'm still wondering how people misread the second one as "Greatest Hats".

David, is the instrument Ozy's holding in the Prehistrionics book inspired by the stringed instruments from Pogo?

Millie looks like she's playing the Air Guitar.

Well spotted.

It's also a very old drawing. I swiped it from the very first Ozy and Millie "book"--an 18-page zeroxed a"zine" affair, containing the earliest strips and the "Planet Q" comic, which I sold a few copies of off the shelves of my local comic store in Olympia, WA, in March 1998.

Lucky these won't be out for a while. I need time to recharge my wallet

If I could afford that I wouldn't need to recharge it.

Interesting. A great deal really, considering I don't have a car currently.

Doog, stop trying to unload that Batmobile. You signed the papers, you're stuck with it, end of story.
