Well, I may not be the best person to talk to about the status of the forum, but knowing how much Felix has done for the system and community so far, I am sure he has the time for and is capable and willing to do what is needed for the DC board and site. But seriously, this has been 5hfifty's personal project from the start, and there is much practical and sentimental reason to not want to hand it over so readily. My opinions and the opinions of this board aside, it is ultimately up to 5hfifty what to make of Define 'Cynical'.

Knowing good ol' Simon... well, don't get me wrong, he really cares about this community, but he has stated he doesn't really know how to fix the My Controls thing. So, I'm almost 100% positive he would quickly hand this board over to someone in a case of emergency.

Thanks for the kind words, everyone. And Tavis, I agree that an admin change is a sticky situation.<br><br>When I took over the hosting of some other forums, the standing admins at those forums retained their admin status. I see no reason why we have to replace Simon at all, we just need to have another admin with the time and expertise to repair and maintain the board.

Exactly. We can have three mods, why not two admins. No sense getting rid of the guy who founded the site. Last time that happened, there was much complaining and fighting and using of yellow. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://definecynical.mancubus.net/forum ... s/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Another board I post at has 8 admins, and the community there is smaller than here. They are admins because they all know either C++, Perl, PHP, or all 3. (Mostly all 3). AT LEAST one of the admins, Ian, learned C++ at 12 and the founder, Andy Matuschak, learned C++ at 9. <br><br>We can do better! Who here learned C++ at 8?

In my opinion if a new admin is to be appointed it should either be Felix or Richard. I'd really say FoxChild or Tavis but they haven't been as active in the last few months. Then again maybe they're like me, they visit everyday but don't log in always.

<span style='color:#64008d'>Tavis</span> reads every single post last I knew, which is extremely hard when he goes a couple of days without checking.<br><br>And I also agree on Felix J. Lockhart or Richard Mandelez being administrator<br><br><span style='color:#64008d'>Mod note: Ya better believe I read them all. <!--emo&<_<--><img src='http://definecynical.mancubus.net/forum ... ns/dry.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='dry.gif' /><!--endemo--> ... yet oddly enough, I'm not sure how to spell Richard's last name either. <!--emo&--><img src='http://definecynical.mancubus.net/forum ... ns/huh.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='huh.gif' /><!--endemo--></span>

DCS should've ended the comic a year or two ago.

Tavis reads every post, yes. I don't, I generally ignore the Games forum, but other than that I read every thread I come across.

I thought that it was Mendelez, but your website is ~rmandelz so I guessed that it was Mandelez... But I'm pretty sure that you've said your name on here before.
