Well, I just had this zany idea. What if I took Ozy and Millie, threw them in a video game, and gave you the choice of either character?

Well, it's happening. Nothing past alpha-stage yet, but sprites are being worked on and some test graphics are finished.

What kind of game? Point and click type game seems most logical. I can't see Ozy in a typical action game.

I thought about that too. Ozy and Millie would obviously have different games. I am going to make it a platformer, however. Ozy will have levels that don't require much in the way of reflexes, but you will need to solve puzzles, whereas Millie has an action oriented game. (Think Commander Keen)

I have the power-ups pretty much lined up, such as chocolate bars to make you move faster. Of course, it will have some O&M style funnies. BTW, I don't have any sprite actually done, they are only mid-way. Ozy's base sprite (standing) still needs a leg and a tail, as well as some coloring. Millie is a floating hair style. The main reason I posted here is to see if I can and should do this, not really to show off. Wow, quite the interesting idea, and yes, a few people have brought this idea up before... I'd be more than happy to test of course n.n
By the way, this thread does belong in O&M Gen. Oh, really? Okay, sorry about that. Anyway, I had assumed people had tried this before, but I intend to finish the game. Or at least the engine.

I'd be interested to try it.

Are you programming the game yourself or using one of the myriad of game makers. And could you be specific on the language/specific game maker you're using?

I'm going to assume you mean '2d platformer' when you say 'platformer'.

Thank you, Tavis. I've noticed that most of the people there wanted to do something kind of slow and thoughtful. But I was thinking a more active approach. Ozy will still have his little puzzle levels, where he'll push blocks or something and figure stuff out, whereas Millie would be the all-out action side of the game. Ozy moves obstacles, Millie obliterates them.

BTW, the game is using Game Maker as it's base. I like Game Maker's GUI, and the programming language, though limited, still gives me that down-home feel of C. Not to mention it's simple to make an engine that is mostly bugless. And yes, it's 2D. I like the classic feel of 2D platformers to 3D ones.
