I wonder if it'll finally get it's own forum too. I've always wanted a place online where I can talk about O&M.
Math is NEVER overrated. Math is the key to upholding the modern world.
It takes language to build a society, but math and science to build a world.

Whoops! I got confused because Bocaj was the one to reply to Richard's "What'd I do?"

I'm very disappointed in all of you. It was right there for the taking. He's back from DC, and wound up back in DC! <!--emo&:wag:--><img src='http://definecynical.mancubus.net/forum ... ailwag.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tailwag.gif' /><!--endemo--> Welcome back!

George Herriman's "Krazy Kat" was an archaic comic strip that inspired certain greats like Bill Watterson. It's not for everybody, primarily because it has an extremely limited number of themes - Kat loves Ignatz Mouse and doesn't realize that him throwing bricks to the head is not flirtation; "Offissa" Bull Pupp loves Kat and tries to ward off the bricks - but it did a lot with those few themes, as well as with the shifting backgrounds and goofy linguistic style. One thing I find interesting is the ambiguity of Kat's gender: I would have guessed male, but that makes the situations unheard of for an early 20th-century comic. Some think Kat kept changing gender and apparent racial representation.

Actually, I've never really read "Krazy Kat" myself. One of these days I'll find a collection and give it a try. It's possible that I won't "get" it at all, but the only alternative, according to Watterson, is to fall in love with it.
