The animals are the reason the comic strip is so appealing, in my opinion. The characters are just so much more vibrant and appealing when depicted in such a unique manner, and while O&M is a truly humerous and immersive comic, the animals are what really makes this strip so enjoyable. I honestly can't picture O&M with humans.

Yes! Garfield is fat! Lets mock him for his slothful behavior! ... Or for the poor quality of the jokes...
That which does not kill me, cripples me for life.

It seems like EVERY topic here is the Garfield-bashing topic. ^^;
Who sleeps shall awake, greeting the shadows from the sun
Who sleeps shall awake, looking through the window of our lives
Waiting for the moment to arrive...
Show us the silence in the rise,
So that we may someday understand...

I only make fun of it because it should know better! I remember a magical time when Garfield was actually funny! ... Or maybe thats just the nostalgia talking...

Well I hate to quote Garfield but: "You can't shame a shameless cat" <!--emo&:P--><img src='http://definecynical.mancubus.net/forum ... tongue.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tongue.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I have the first nine books of Garfield, and after book 7, it started going downhill drastically. Garfield blows now.

There are very few "funnies" on the funnies page. Thats why I come here. The only reason I still read the newspaper comics are for Pearls Before Swine and Non Sequitor and those only run on the weekends.
