I was just telling yet another friend that I would be gone for Thanksgiving when I was quickly reminded that that friend was in Canada, where this Thursday's feast doesn't apply... I responded with the random statement I soon afterwards put in my sig.

"Yeah... 'tis an American conspiracy designed to promote Benjamin Franklin's suggestion to adopt the turkey over the bald eagle as the national bird."

Anyone think there is any merit in this late-night chocolate-hyperactivity-induced hallucination of turkeyness-related madness that may or may not be dragon related?? What of other just as crazy holiday-related theories? Share them, please!

What would it be like if the turkey was our national bird? Would we be eating eagles for Thanksgiving?

Thanksgiving is the pilgrims being thankful the native americans didn't kill them all when they landed. If the natives had known, then it might have been otherwise.

Quote:

What would it be like if the turkey was our national bird? Turkeys don't fly (much).

Though I wonder if a turkey represents USA more than an eagle nowadays...
Still mostly here.

It's "colonil," I think. There might be an "a" in place of that "i"
