I first saw "Oooh... Shiney!" from Penguinita, but it has been accepted as a parallel and independent discovery among our members, seeing as so many have admitted using it before appearing here. 'Splode also came from Penguinita as her avatar was of some NASA-like imagery of a planet going unstable. Of course, the meaning of 'splode had changed when another member (Maeglin) mastered the art of inducing it with furry avatars. (Just search for posts where FoxChild 'splodes. heh) Oh, and I think the pie reference was mostly brought up by Miles originally and quickly adopted by the others, so wherever he got it was the source. You'll occasionally run into some random O&M quotes too, so be sure to read up on the archives before you wonder about that random thing they're saying.

Where were you when I asked about that stuff???

Come to think of it, where wasI when I asked about it? I've already forgotten what thread that was in. (Geez...)

Oh, and by "Miles" I believe you mean Traysandor Vulpine. Referring to members by their old names to a new member is bad flooba. Hey! There's a new use of the word right there! Maybe if I'm lucky, it'll catch on. And if I'm normal, it'll die right here and now.

* Wanders off aimlessly in search of above references. *

Well, ask Iyestorm, I'm sure he won't mind about using old usernames
If you've done things right, people won't be sure if you've done anything at all.

Welcome to the board (2 by 4? 4 by 4?) anyhoo. Greenthings and Hallucinations!

Hmm, Shiney...... I've also had that term aplied to some of my comp artwork that I've posted in the doodlemania thread. then again, I admit that it is rather shiney so that term fits.
We're sorry but the number that you have dialed is imaginary....Please turn your phone 90 degrees and try again.

Yes, Bendarr. "Ooh, shiney" was quite well established here by then, and so people were more than ready to use it for that. After all, with all that chrome and reflective stuff, that stuff really was shiny!
