I don't believe you when you say you don't have friends.

Who the heck do you think you're complaining to when you type that?!
Who were you quoting? What would you define us as? First off, I do not believe in God. I do not think there is a supreme being, and I do not think there is anything outside of the universe.

I also think that I don't know everything.

I happen to think that people should strive to do the right thing. Most people can determine what's right without being told. Some may need help, but the general rule "help, don't hurt" works in most situations. As such, I don't believe in doing good as God's will. I believe in doing good because it is good. I don't think than doing a good deed for a reward (I'll get into heaven!) or to avoid a punishment (I don't want to go to hell!) is the right reason to do something. And if there is a God, then I'd rather be judged on what I did rather than how hard I prayed.

As a side note, I think most people who believe in God do good thing because they are good. There are some cynical ones, though.

Quote: ("sirjeffrey")

I have no friends. Still mostly here.
I believe in God, and I used to be a fundamentalist Southern Baptist, but I've recovered

Seriously, I've given up on arguing religion, but people who describe themselves as born-again Christians really get on my nerves.

I'd like to apologize for what I said earlier. I have to disagree with Maeglin slightly... although I do technically agree with him, religion and politics shouldn't be discussed in forum boards, but...

...We haven't really erupted into a flame war yet. I think there might be hope for us... But then, I could be wrong...

It'd be really (though not literally) ironic if we went into a flame war about that instead of religion

I don't beleive in God, an afterlife, or reincarnation, any type of supreme being or messiahs or a non-mental soul. I have no qualms about others practicing their religion unless they use faith as tool for pain. I don't CARE what you think is divine, as long as you don't use it as an excuse to hurt.
Linus - "There are three things i've learned to never discuss with people; religion, politics and the Great Pumpkin."

"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you"

Feel that I should apologize for the earlier post because I did not intend to offend anybody. What I am going to do is write out some information detailing what I believe. If you want me to address something specifically let me know and I will do my best to cover that. I will most likey not post it here rather I will prolly put it on the web site were I hold the images that I use here. I will try to have this done or at least a preliminary done by Monday

The reason I refer to myself as a born again Christian is because in my view (at least here in the United States) just saying Im a Christian means nothing because it no long means what it once did. I feel the term born again Christian describes my beliefs better than just say I am a Christian. However I feel that say Im a Christian describes my lifestyle better than saying I am born again.
