I plan to have another update to The Landing Strip done this weekend and would like to know what others would like me to add this time.

The question of whether World Events will remain is still up in the air, pending another poll. I might be tempted to add more detail to the profile creation process such as naming where to look to add an avatar or change the member title, since these have been big things that newer guests have had a tendency to ask.

I have just updated The Landing Strip. For this edit I:

Subtly changed the writing concerning the status of FoxChild's advanced controls tutorial,

Activated the button located in the text with the appropriate link so that it will help new users post a topic right away,

Added "World Events" to the forum descriptions,

Added more shameless plugs for #definecynical,

Activated the link to the Links page (since the Links page was down when I wrote it, and I failed to add the link when the rest of the site came back up), and

Corrected the spelling of "maintenance" (for shame... )

I'm considering adding a section to The Landing Strip to cover hosting. It should look something like this:

Hosting:

Image posting to the forums is very limited; you are only able to upload one image per post, but you can show up to 10 images in the post itself if you can obtain hosting offsite. There are a couple free services available, such as Imageshack, as well as space provided by members including Felix Lockhart and DoppledangeR DooG.

Needless to say, it is lacking a lot of information I would need before I can put it up.

well, mine is at images.fuzzycheese.net and i have too much bandwidth/GB for my own good. my e-mail is doogster, in the domain fuzzycheese dot net. i will host anything despite the subdomain's name.

EDIT: Sorry, but I did this for your protection. Because this site is freely accessible, spammers can easily extract that email address and you'd be flooded with junk.

thanks. i just got through blocking my last spammers...

Mine is at fusiontechva.net/FJL, but I might be moving to my own domain. Those interested may email me, my address is in my signature and my be posted in the Landing Strip if desired.

*Bump*

The link to Hdofu's O&M Board, apparently, is deader than a doorknob... it gives you a 404 Not Found error when you click on it...

However, I've been so kind as to clean up my own forum, and turn it into an O&M board, primarily for times when this place is down...

Like what happened this past weekend when this board was down for the entire weekend. It does kinda stink when I can't access this place to talk about my favorite (and only) webcomic.

My forum's address is http://traysandor.4.forumer.com

It formerly existed as an RPG forum, but I have since eliminated that aspect, since it never took off, and I never had the time to do anything with it.

Well, a better hosting solution would probably be my friend's photo gallery hosted on my same server, www.fusiontechva.net/trlblog/gallery. That's where I'll be sticking any images emailed to me, it's free to join and easy to set up an account. Users are allocated 10mb, more is available if needed.

As much as you need, I'd assume, 40gb/month is the domain's bandwidth cap.

10 MB isn't that much... The pages I have at Geocities add up to about 12MB with the remaining 3 MB shuffled about for files when I don't want to send them as email attachments, so my current homepage would not fit there.
