We call them secretaries; as in Secretary of State (Colin Powell), Secretary of Defense (Donald Rumsfeld), etc.<br>

It's a group of advisors in specific areas that help advise the president and are selected by the president. Sec. of State runs defense, Sec. of Education runs education, Sec. of the Interior runs our parks, etc.<br><br>That's a brief explanation.

There is a minisry of ministries in France.<br><br>American buorocracy realy isn't that involved compared to other first world nations.

Really? I find it super beurocracised (sp?) Admittedly most of what I know about american politics I learnt from "The West Wing" <br><br>But then I'm from a country where we only have one house, and no lobbyists and only 120 members in the house.
