They seem to live in a very wooded area.

Western Washington, as well as much of the Pacific Northwest, is indeed very wooded. It's also quite rainy and dark for most of the winter, giving rise to a new underground music scene called Cascadian Black MEHTUL, which includes bands like Wolves in the Throne Room, Mary Shelley (yes there is a band called that), and arguably Agalloch.
Who sleeps shall awake, greeting the shadows from the sun
Who sleeps shall awake, looking through the window of our lives
Waiting for the moment to arrive...
Show us the silence in the rise,
So that we may someday understand...

I meant it in a way that, largely natural areas, especially if they're untouched are usually free from the commercialism that Ozy and Millie are trying to avoid here.

Yeah but I wanted to plug in Cascadian black MEHTUL in anyway I could!!!!

I was gradually getting better at drawing walking, but it would be some time before I perfected it.
O&M strips occasionally have narration, but not usually this much. I was going for a kind of faux-epic feel.

Ozy looks like he should have a sign that says "Keep On Truckin'" in the second panel.

I always thought this storyline was dumb. They should just walk into the woods where they will not find any commercialism.

i will say, the artwork is getting pretty goddamn adorable at this stage
Re: Wednesday, April 7, 1999: A singular mission
