ok every time i try to post a image i get this error thing "You are not allowed to use that image extension on this board. A valid format is: http://www.domain.com/picture.gif, an invalid format is: http://www.domain.com/picture.one.gif" please how do i fix this?
Make sure the file your using is a bitmap (.bmp) jpeg (.jpg or .jpeg) ot a png (.png) file. A simple way to convert files is with MS Paint. Simply open a file and save as teh desired file type. Ocosanaly that messes up the color but in oreder to fix that you have to get a conversion program or ask either Tavis or I to convert it for you. I can't speek for Tavbis but I will help and I'm sure Tavis would hlep as well.

A couple other things: make sure you have visited The Landing Strip and you can also check here for further isnructions on Avatars but it is a littel hard to falwo because pictures that were used were lost in a crash the site had here.

ok this is where i go to host my images My Webpage
Okay.. web browsers normally do not accept BMP images properly, and I suppose that is also not a valid type for attachments. Just open your BMP file on your computer, convert it to GIF or JPEG (PNGs seem to give some people difficulty too), and try uploading it again.

Also, pay attention to the filename.. the image tag instruction also does not allow files that have dots in the filename part (like in picture.one.gif)

You can use all sorts of stuff to convert BMP files to GIF or JPG. Free image converters are available online, and in some instances, you can even use Windows Paint to convert to other formats. Just do it. You will be impressed by your ability to keep more images online on the site that is hosting them and allowing more people to view them without having to use Paint as a helper application.

Once you have a valid image, you have two options:

You can upload it to a site that allows offsite linking (I'm assuming Walagata does) and type the URL of the GIF or JPEG file between the IMG tags, or

You can use the File Attachments blank to upload it directly from your computer to the forum's site as you submit a post.

Beyond that, there is no shortcut to converting your images. You must have that resolved before you can post any images. I'm sure there are plenty of people that can convert some images for you, but it is such a basic function that you really must know how and be able to do it yourself. Don't expect the average person to download a wallpaper that's saved as a BMP to convert it for you.

EDIT: I tried to go directly to the image file you tried to present, and all I get is a 404 error. You might also want to check the address to make sure that is where your image can be found..

EDIT2: Oh yeah, if you do have a valid URL (that points to ANYTHING), you can still try the URL function (the http:// button in the Code Buttons section of your controls) to link to the image like you would a web page..

I opened the file in a browser window. (I could read it as an image aculy) right clicked and saved the picture to my hard drive.

I opend the file in Paint. (It shoudl be under the start menu, all prgrams, accesories). I then saved the file as and under file tuype chose GIF (.gif). I then upladed a file using the prompt below this form.

Edit: below is the image using the IMG tags (the URL is: http://definecynical.mancubus.net/forum ... 518640.gif)
