This was kind of inspired by Bronte's birthday thread.. FoxChild commented about how much he missed Jello and I thought it might be a nice thing to bring up.. what kinds of things do you remember about being a kid that you have missed, and how much have you been resisting adulthood? Of course, a lot goes there.. favorite toys, kinds of desserts, trick-or-treating, plushies, kid music, and comic strips.

Of course, some could argue we aren't really that grown up.. after all, we all still religiously read the comics, or at least O&M. Come on, let's have fun with this.

I miss being easily amused. I seem to be bored alot more these past 3 years than I can ever remember. Ignorance is bliss sometimes. Being a kid was all about doing whatever, no worries about a job, bills, politics, etc. Good times.

I miss everything. And it wasn't untill we moved to australia I stopped doing all the kid stuff I did. I miss my friends and what we used to do. We would trek through the bushes all day, play computer games together (we even made levels for doom etc.), everything was awesome. Going back to my house in NZ last Christmas was a huge nostalgia rush which I'll never experience again.

Back in my day...

Poor 5hfifty, I really miss being able to just go in the backyard and have my imagination give me an adventure.
Now I find that childish and my imaginative skills are nowhere near as good as it was.
I remember it was always something like, I was stuck in a forest and I had to survive there, and I'd meet this old man and we'd go exploring and picking apples off the tree to store and eat later and if it was the right season we could get plums and yeah... I liked that.
I never played with friends after school back then, I had a couple of friends a while after but before that I was a complete loner.

Now I'm a normal kid, which is good.
It's better to expirience both sides instead of just one; so you know how the bully feels and you know how the victim feels is a good example.
What do I miss from childhood? I dunno. I don't miss many of my old friends. With a number of exceptions that can be counted on one hand (my friend Danny in 2nd grade, my friend Rich in 4th grade, and my friend Chris in 8th grade, and all 3 of them moved away), I never had a friend who I'd call a "good friend" until I got to high school 3 years ago, and I have a decent circle of friends that I trust and enjoy hanging out with.

I suppose I miss being judgement-free. When I was a kid, I acted like a kid, did things that kids did, enjoyed life and did whatever I wanted, and no one really cared. Now, especially as a teen, everything I do is scrutinized with a fine-toothed comb by my parents, my brother, my classmates, I'm always being judged about how I act, who my friends are, the types of things I enjoy, everything's taken too far by others to try to define myself. I missed doing whatever and having no one really care.

being the youngest here unless FC's or whoever's brother is here (whoever it is, i don't pay attention), and due to the fact that everybody who doesn't know me as a drugged up insane person tells me i act like a fifteen year old, including me, i will say i miss[ed] the old Amigas, the ability to walk to a park that was actually fun by myself, and all those little fun kids TV shows.
pants jesus
DCS should've ended the comic a year or two ago.

Getting older and growing up aren't necessarily the same thing.

I still read comics (good comics), watch the occasional cartoon but as Dragon Fox said, everything i do is judged to extremes. If i read a comic it means i'm juvenile and still a kid, what bologna.

I miss not having a care in the world. I miss being able to play with friends without having to plan around families, jobs, etc.

Being an adult is highly overrated at times.

I echo Zaaphods sentiments a lot, and every bit of that could be related to the game "Colord Eggs" that the kids i knew in Ft. Lee VA use to play at the playground in the middle of the large curcle of grass behind my old house. now that was a game that i would play again in a heart beat.
