Wow...yesterday we got the worst storms I've seen in a long time. At least 3 unconfirmed tornadoes, hundreds of thousands of people lost power (some school districts were closed today because of power outages) and at least 1 person was killed when a tree fell on his car. At least 58,000 people alone in this county (Montgomery County, Maryland) lost power. Our place, our power went out sometime before 3pm and was out til after 5:45am this morning, but other places are probably still without power. My ride home normally takes about 1 hr 45 minutes, but yesterday it took close to 3 hours, the traffic was so bad, and there were plenty of traffic lights out.

Touche, but here, it's not normal. Tornadoes around here are rare (Maryland averages only 4 tornadoes a year, and rarely around here) and even then, power outages usually aren't as widespread as they were yesterday (or today) nor are schools here closed because of power problems, since it rarely happens.
