He should be thrown out of the Corps. What he did was a disgrace. Any one, with enough sense to come in out of the rain, should have known what kind of response this was going to get.

Idiot.

Someone should throw this asshole off a cliff.

Seriously, that's utterly horrible and disgusting.

I can see where you're getting at rabid_fox when you talk about the same people that get completely up in arms about this are the same that don't react much to a human disaster or something like that. Still I'd think I'd be equally if not evenmore disgusted and enraged if that was an infant being tossed over the cliff. If this is not a hoax, which with today's technology it very well could be, that Marine needs to be dishonorably discharged and he need to have his head examined pronto. For if anyone can do this to a puppy dog and laugh about it, then they're not far away from doing a fellow human like that. Again though I have to say everyone cool it a bit till we know for sure this is real. I would think if it were real, it would have already been verified and run on the national news networks by now. Then again they're so preoccupied with the primaries today, may not see anything bout this even if it were verified.

This is all over the internet right now. Expect it to be all over the news tomorrow. People are already posting his name, address, phone number, etc, all over the place, as well as flooding his and his wife's MySpace pages with everything from derision to death threats.
Ok, but why is a US Marine doing it? Don't they have higher standards than average people?

I'm now using this story with my A-level Language students to research bias in the media with.

Some hilarious results thus far.

Armytimes.com used stackloads of words like "Apparently, appeared to and seemed to" and suchforth. Glorious hedging.

Daily Mail (who else!) ran an "America's Shame!" headline. Love it.

Youtube comments focused more on political and cultural animosity.

I will be intrigued to see what they turn up tomorrow.

There are much more ludicrous things that happen in this world on a daily basis than this alleged attempt at controlling the pet population. Why are people up in arms over something so mundane?

"because dogs are more likable than people."

I believe we have covered this.

Perhaps I should've noted that there's supposed to be at least a little sarcasm there.

Perhaps the sarcasm is what I found to be funny.

Its a faked video...

And quite possibly a smear tactic.

And before any of you spout off yeah right how do you know...

well...its been done before.

I will apologise if im wrong...but this just smacks of fakery.

Even if it is faked it's deplorable.

Actually caught them talking about it on one of the news channels earlier. A statement from the Marines said something of the nature that this officer would be dealt with to the full extent.

Good.

But what if you were to learn that said puppy was a chemical weapons puppy? Or that he had to dropkick the puppy to save it?

But srsly, if its true its a terrible case of animal cruelty. Even so, if this gets people more worked up than times when hundreds or thousands of people die in a natural disaster or something like that I'm going to be not very surprised. As they said in Discworld, stories about animals have human interest.
That which does not kill me, cripples me for life.

Which one? Cause it has yet to come on CNN yet and I watch that every morning before classes and work. It surprises me that they haven't jumped on it yet considering how CNN loves to jump on controversial and deplorable stories like this. Then again, the primaries as I mentioned earlier. They'll be talking bout those results for most of the day. Again I say if this is true then the guy needs to be dishonorably discharged and he really needs to be evaluated cause he's not right in the head.
