the ears are a little strange-looking, though. Might want to fix that.
I see nothing wrong with them.

Don't get overexcited, but I think I've finally come up with a comic idea that I can run with. This is a rough sketch of one of the main 3 characters (albeit the last to actually be introduced in the comic.)

But she needs a name! Any ideas?

Cameron is awesome because:
-Because he has an artistic style that is both complex and minimalist. This is profound!
-He once drew me as a roadrunner. It was an actual honest to god feral roadrunner, but a roadrunner nonetheless!
-He lives in Idaho among the wilderness and stuff and I envy him for that. 3:
-He is probably one of the most personable artists on here.
-I think he's the only one of us on here who drew a fanart that made it as a guest strip on O&M. This is an accomplishment!

Carrie? (short for Caroline)

that's great that you finally got an idea for one Cam, as I think your style would make for a great comic.

No, my aunt is named Linda. She might not appreciate me naming a character after her who is kind of...fat.

I'm liking Carrie, though.

I was going to get up some drawings of the other characters, but my hand just doesn't seem to be working properly today. Notice how very, very rough the one above is, even though it's a pretty simple subject. I guess I need a break.

Plus, the elections are on. Hurrah for Ron Paul!

The name Merlyn Monro just keeps poping in my head.

I'm not satisfied with these drawings, but they'll do okay for getting on with.
Image
Jacen, a biker (not as in bicycle!), mining town boy and philosophy student. Goes on long trips on his slightly beat-up old Harley. Serves as the POV of the comic most of the time. 24 years old.
Image
Professor Whitstone. He's a genius. No, really--and he has no problem telling you so. When Jacen first meets him, he's running down the steps of the Humanities building waving a katana, for reasons that almost make sense when explained. Eccentric and irascable, like if Steve Jobs was Dr. Who was Albert Einstein. His apartment looks as if he keeps half the National Archive in it, with the spare bedroom full of nothing other than books and stacked papers. This is all the detritus of his wide-ranging creative and intellectual work: he's written 5 books of poetry, 3 novels (not quite finished), 4 books of history, one of religion, ten of scholarly essays, three of music and one and a half on music. And one of the walls is a mural, painted by himself. :D 42 years old.

And above, of course, we have Carrie. She's a nerdy and rather overweight postgraduate student who works in the computer lab of the university that forms the nominal setting for our comic. Spends way to much time with her computers. 30 years old.

EDIT: fixed some ages.

This is developing well, and the premise behind the main character is an interesting one (breaking the cliché biker role).

this is going to be a good comic =D
