I don't think the amount you type has anything to do with how condescending you sound. I'm more inclined to think that being condescending is what makes you sound condescending. I could be wrong, though. ^_^
I was talking about the pretentious bit, not the condescending bit. But since you mentioned it...
The "condescending" bit isn't something I'd use to label myself... but I can see how a lifetime of trying to cope with being surrounded by idiots would have that sort of effect on me.
Of course I'm not necessarily talking about you people here. I mean I don't even really know any of you... but when most of the people I have to deal with on a regular basis seem to be frustratingly dim-witted then it can kinda take a toll on the way one deals with strangers..... even without meaning to.
Then again, that is nothing compared to the way Fionn O'hara used to act. That'd be the same girl who did 5 A-levels and only lost 5 marks across all subjects. That is 5 marks total off getting full marks in ALL exams. Now SHE.... was one of those quiet yet overwhelmingly arrogant people. She seemed honestly unaware of how patronising she was, but even I could see that she treated everyone else like small, fluffy animals.
To be honest though I don't blame her. We couldn't really match up to her standards. I always was somewhat envious of her for that.
So anyhow... while I wouldn't call myself condescending (I'd actually call myself unnecessarily patient sometimes)... I suppose I can't necessarily deny it as it is all really a matter of perspective.
Rest assured that I mean nothing personal by it though.
... And I do sometimes overblow the whole ego thing for the sake of humour, in case you hadn't picked up on that already.
