That not once in the comic (as far as I know) has Millie nor her mother ever been called "vixens"?

The closest would have been in this cameo here: http://mynarskiforest.purrsia.com/xsl99_46.htm

I noticed, but I never really bothered to think about it cause... well... I have some... bad memories with a certain person.

Well, it's not all that often that characters even mention species. Maybe a term as specific as "vixen" is politically incorrect, like "negress" or "pickaninny." Or maybe DCS just avoids the word because it sounds uncomfortably salacious.

"Vixen" has all the wrong connotations for Millie and Ms. Mudd anyway.

Calling Millie a vixen would be like calling a cute 10-year-old female anthro canine furry a bitch.

Agreed x2. My vote goes for this being the reason it's never been used.

Are... are they... 'foxy'?

Well, technically, they (and all the other vulpines in that strip) would be considered foxy ladies... :D

You left out the word "dog/canine" in that sentence. Anywho, this brings up interesting questions. Would "bitch" be considered the equivalent of a racial slur, in a furry world?

Actually, I didn't know until I looked at this thread that I'd never used that term.

Holy crap, I left out the ONE MOST IMPORTANT WORD in my post! The one which actually made it make sense! AAaahh. *goes back and edits post*

But, that is a fascinating question. I bet that bitch would be a "racial slur"... and "vixen" might be as well. Although for some reason in my mind I am guessing that in a furry world, vixen would be a more mild slur than bitch... in fact, I bet that vixen would be like bitch in our world, and bitch would be like "the N word" in our world.

In the spirit of bored inquiry, I wonder if the phrasing "crazy like a fox" exists in OM world.

Maybe it just happens not to be a big part of your functional vocabulary. That's understandable.

Yeah, but it would probably be considered racist, or at least in extremely poor taste. Think of various English expressions that mention a specific race. Not very nice. Probably the same idea in Fursylvania.
