I leave for 1 hour and this is what happens to my thread.

I rather like the idea of having a character with an IQ of 300.
Dr. Eggman from the Sonic universe is supposed to have that IQ. I'd never have guessed from his "latest and greatest" inventions.

DCS thought Aaron McGruder was cheap to assign his spokesperson Huey a genius-level IQ. I give him a break on that point. Huey is an elementary schooler voicing a post-collegiate man's opinions. If he weren't a genius, what would that say about McGruder?

In truth, I think it's best not to deal with the IQ scores of fictional characters. The system is faulty enough in RL, and it's better to show rather than tell the audience about someone's smarts.

Well, the problem is, nobody said the value of σ. For me to give any credence to a number like 300, I'd guess that σ was 100 - the currently accepted IQ tests (i.e. the Wechsler ones) won't give any value outside 100 ± 3σ (though they define σ as 15), because it becomes poorly conditioned as you move away from 100: the difference between 160 and 240 might just be finishing one extra answer in that one minute speed test, really not that much.

In addition, the more deviations away from the mean you go, the more likely the system is being gamed. After three deviations, most staticians will consider you to be an outlier; if they were trying to use you as part of their test set (to figure out which percentile I would be in when I take the test later), you'd be excluded..

Come to think of it, if 100 is average by definition, it could just mean that the society in which Dr. Eggman lives is dumber overall than ours. Sure seems that way.

The average will always be 100, but the mean and median changes every single year.

I don't think the Grim Reaper is done with Riley just yet. I mean, he's the Grim Reaper, and losing a checkers game in 14 moves (while extremly impressive on Riley's part) dosn't really mean he HAS to honour his word. I'm betting he isn't done just yet, but I could be wrong....
(But I could be right, who knows? I'll just have to wait and find out.)

The Grim Reaper in Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey didn't capitulate after just one loss, so you may be right.

Announcement!!!

As of 10/13, I will no longer be posting comics on DC or dA.

I'm only going to be posting them on Drunk Duck.

I post my comic every Tues, Thurs, and Sat. So if you actually like my comic, you should come by (so you don't get lost in the story).

Sorry guys, but I have to do this. I'm not paid enough to keep posting my comic here.
