It's not a ripoff if you don't make the same jokes and situations. Mudd + Llewellyn is quite different from Kevin + Kell. For one, imagine Millie's destructiveness combined with someone who can breathe fire!

A dragon/fox hybrid? Hmmm

Nah, that'd be rippin off Coney Dewclaw.
To be honest, I've never liked how Kevin and Kell throws out the rule that members of two very different species can't produce offspring. If that were true, after a few hundred years there would basically be no such thing as species anymore. It breaks the reality for me.

I won't say whether there will ever be a wedding in the strip (it's certainly possible), but I can say with some confidence that there will never be a dragon-fox offspring running around.

Well, there ARE crossbreeds. Mules and Ligers for example. But, the crossbreed is usually sterile, so can't reproduce. So, that does preserve the species.

Eh, I figure they'd be more likely to adopt, in any case. Or be done with kids once Ozy and Millie are grown up; living together after marriage would be quite a transition in itself, for all involved. Haha, for one thing, I don't think Ozy is *quite* so combative at bathtime.

Have we ever even seen Ozy at bathtime?
Hmmmm....
*searches through archives.

It looks like we have one here.

I've been saying the same thing for years. Though a world in which species survival depends on matching mates, but anyone's also just as likely to be attracted to any one other species as their own, would have its own obvious problems.

But even so, in Domain, interspecies relations are frowned on (as is shown on multiple occasions), so often, the person is forced to either go with their own species, or none at all, or be "in the closet". And often, even when one dates/marries outside his/her species, the offspring tends to go to one side or the other. (As with Mary the sheep. She didn't even know she was part wolf. She ate grass, and looked like a sheep.)

There are a lot of things that are absurd about Kevin and Kell, but I can put up with all of them-characters are interesting enough, after all, and the art's good.
BUT-one thing's been bothering me lately. I am getting SO TIRED of the constant FOOD JOKES! It's a fixation! It's always "herbivore this" and "carnivore that" and it is SAD. The strip is getting to be SO LAME. Ugh! It's as bad as a newspaper strip. And there used to be a time when interesting things happened to the characters. Heck, I read the entire archives when I first discovered it. But now, I swear, it's getting close to being dropped from my reading list.

Cameron is awesome because:
-Because he has an artistic style that is both complex and minimalist. This is profound!
-He once drew me as a roadrunner. It was an actual honest to god feral roadrunner, but a roadrunner nonetheless!
-He lives in Idaho among the wilderness and stuff and I envy him for that. 3:
-He is probably one of the most personable artists on here.
-I think he's the only one of us on here who drew a fanart that made it as a guest strip on O&M. This is an accomplishment!

I was starting to wonder why K&K doesn't feel as interesting as it did while I was reading the archives, and I think you've got it right there.

I think it's because if you join the forums, you'll find out real quick that there's a few people that complain about anything Bill does, especially when it comes to Danielle. They complain everytime Danielle gets strip time. Especially Janette Isabelle. She thinks that simply because she hates that Danielle took her double's place, that Bill should get rid of her. So Bill takes the "Garfield" approach, and try to do things that won't upset anyone.

But, we're getting off-topic now....

Dreams where you are awake but still sleeping.... You can't imagine how horrible those are to me. They often throw my worst nightmares (or at least worries at me). Funny thing is these things can seem to be extremely mundane but feel important to me. Being late to class, missing the bus, not having done my work. Trust me, as simple as it seems, these kind of dreams are the ones I dread the absolute most.

I can say with some confidence that there will never be a dragon-fox offspring running around.
That's good. Giving Foxes the ability to breathe fire greatly rise the chances of fur catching on fire, and that smells really bad.

And isn't good for the complexion, as Ozy found out once while "testing" a product with Millie....

To be fair, humans of different races can interbreed indefinitely, yet there is little enough mingling that most people don't check "Other" on forms. That said, hybridization gets out of control in K&K and some other comics, especially when it involves a mammal and a nonmammal.

Regarding K&K's food obsession, that did tire me for a while, but I found that as with a lot of serial entertainment, there is a rhythm to it. Don't fret so much about the lack of epic storylines or character changes lately. I'm sure Bill's planned something.

Actually, Millie was the one who got burned.
