Same reason I keep mine nearer to the ground. I have to choose between getting out of bed to turn it off or risk breaking my various bones trying to get it from up on high.

Look, just because I'm paying several thousand dollars or so give or take a bundle to go to uni, it doesn't necessarily mean I have to be paying attention 100% of the time. Its generally advised though.
