It's pretty rare for me to have lucid dreams. A lot of the time, my dreams that are like a movie playing in my head, which, for some strange reason, I'm not in. Once I'm awake, I'm a bit freaked out by the fact that I wasn't even in my own dream.
That and I've also developed a talent for being able to wake myself from nightmares before whatever horror my subconsious created attacks me. But they still get through sometimes, like that one with the jellyfish tentacle chamber. I fear jellyfish like some people fear snakes or spiders, even before that nightmare. But I digress. This was a good strip.

Ozy smiled in this strip! That's a nice change. When I have dreams I'm in them from first person perspective, and they usually involve very weird things. Like driving a quad off of a very high cliff and being on a playground with the kids from the Magic schoolbus show. I beat one of them over the head with a bat.
Sometimes I get dreams inside dreams. You dream something, then you think you "wake up" from that dream, but you really just "wake up" into another dream.
...Anyone know sort of what I'm talking about?

Astro> gforce's smiles can cure cancer in kittensgforce422 is awesome because:
-He made the absolute nicest comments about me in the other topic. I didn't respond to them yet, because I suck, but they are greatly appreciated! =D
-I would say he would also be a good runner up as one of the nicest people alive.
-He joined the IRC sometimes. But not enough, I say! Chat moar =D
-He is evidently only 18 year old but he could easily pass for 25. =D
-He is a drummer like *I* am and this in itself is cool.
Astro> the happiness radiating from your person is enough to solve tensor calculus

I can hardly believe I didn't notice. I thought it was sufficient fun even without the pun.Lucid = Loose id
I remember a lot of vivid dreams, but I can't recall any lucid ones. There seem to have been some in which I realized I had more power over the situation than usual, but the possibility of a dream, even when partly awake, didn't come to me before I fully awoke.
DCS once said that he didn't understand why many people think Ozy "never" smiles, and he showed several examples from the past year. I'm still pretty sure he doesn't smile as often as he did in the early years, and hanging out with Millie must make his smiles seem all the rarer.

Exactly. That's just the most subtly snide comment I've ever seen Ozy say. I almost want an extra panel on the end of Llewellyn overhearing this and yelling "Oh Snap!"At first glance I thought Ozy was refering to the psychodynamics term "id," one of Freud's three divisions of the psyche. Basically Freud thought that everyone has an id, an unconscious part of the psyche that is responsible for all of our primative impulses (food, sex, survival, etc.) I think that was what theteague was so... eloquently refering to.
But yeah, the Id/Ego/SuperEgo is one of the few things I'll give Frued kudos for, even if I prefer the Child/Adult/Parent interpetation of the structure.
Here's an odd/interesting website on inducing lucid dreams:

Though I think some of those people might be a little *too* dedicated.
I did try keeping a "dream journal" for a short time, though. It's interesting to record the sheer random nonsense our brains spew out while we sleep.

Stories!
Stories!
Yeah, the dream contained absolutely no cordial cherries! What kind of a dream is that?I've had a dream before. It had some Ozy and Millie characters in it.
The odd part? In the dream, I was Millie.
I'm a boy.
In my dream I was Millie.
See what's wrong here?
Who sleeps shall awake, greeting the shadows from the sun
Who sleeps shall awake, looking through the window of our lives
Waiting for the moment to arrive...
Show us the silence in the rise,
So that we may someday understand...

Well, some time ago I dreamed I was Darth Vader, and normally I don't even wear black! It doesn't make sense!I've had a dream before. It had some Ozy and Millie characters in it.

Zen Master Ikyoto said: "The world is vast and wide. Why, then, do you wear pants in which you could smuggle Volkswagens?"
Sometimes I wish that my dreams would stay unremembered. Mainly because they are almost always completely insane. Sometimes I wake up and feel alienated and confused, thinking "...what?" And they always seem to feed on something I'm currently stressed out about or feeling guilty about, and I wake up in a bad mood.
A question about lucid dreaming... How can you be sure whether you are controlling your dream, or dreaming about controlling a dream?
