
This picture (in the original) is much bigger than my drawings usually are-it's 12" by 18" at 500 dpi. This is because I'm going to use it to make a full-size poster. The poster is only printed at 200 dpi, of course, so it can be made bigger for that. 12x18 isn't really all that big, but (even though it's only in black and white) my computer was straining with it. That's why I don't do color much: with my style, I prefer to color using virtual paint, which my Pentium 4 and standard video RAM just can't handle without being PAINFULLY slow.
I did a little hunting around to find the bow I liked most for Rish there. One of the neat things about fantasy is that I can have a Jewish Native American otter living in a Roman city in the middle of the American Desert using a traditional Mongolian bow.
