Why else would I take ads? On Keenspot, I get ad revenue. I don't have a day job, and this potentially means thousands in ad revenue every year...it's that simple.Oh my Keenspot again. Interesting change. The cynic in me is thinking maybe Dana made the change to get more traffic and exposure and thus (theoretically) more revenue. But I can't be that cynical can I?

I figured ad revenue was the reason behind the switch. It's nice to make some money doing what you love. Why else would I take ads? On Keenspot, I get ad revenue. Made by Angela.

Have you considered options for ads other than Keenspot? Blank Label Comics seem to do a somewhat better job of keeping the ads tasteful. And there's also the option of managing them yourself, like Mookie with Dominic Deegan or Bill Holbrook with Kevin and Kell, although I'm sure that can be a major pain. Why else would I take ads? Really? I thought the average ad didn't bring in more than some pocket change these days (as in since 2001), unless a site has tens of thousands of hits per day.Why else would I take ads? O&M probably does get tens of thousands of hits per day. Years ago, there was an estimate of 10,000-50,000 readers; the number has probably gone up since.I thought the average ad didn't bring in more than some pocket change these days (as in since 2001), unless a site has tens of thousands of hits per day.

Well now that I can finally see the site I can chime in. I think the slightly updated look is rather nice. I have nothing against going back to Keenspot either; the ads don't bother me. Besdies, more money in D.C.'s pocket is a good thing for the strip's longevity
(not to mention, it'd be nice if she could, you know, eat from time to time)
I wonder when Keenspot will list it on their front-page.

Never really been fond of Keenspot from a layout perspective ('ugly banner thingy at top' being what I tend to associate with it), but I'd imagine from a cartoonist perspective the change makes sense.
I am right in thinking that Keenspot is, roughly speaking, the online equivilent of a traditional medium comicstrip getting syndicated, right?
