Is that word for just Japanese comics or all comics generally? Or is it another way of saying fanfiction?

Basically it's what Gen said, it;s a fan comic based off an existing comic or some oter existing thing. For example, this would be an Ozy and Millie Doujin, Gen 200 is doing a Jack Doujin, and another person is doing a FFVII Doujin.
