[Llewellyn consoles his son of his failure to sell homemade lemonade]

Ll: I know just how you feel, son. I once failed in a business venture myself. It was a brilliant idea if I say so myself. It was going to be a chain of combination bakeries and loan offices, called simply "Dough". We'd have the friendliest service, of course. "Well, Mr. Thompkins, your credit check should take about half an hour. Please enjoy a butter scone in the meantime." And if you took out more than a thousand dollars you'd get a complimentary cookie bouqet.

Oz: So what happened?

Ll: Two rather unfortunate incidents. One, the economy tanked, and two, everyone started going on the Atkins diet.

Oz: I'd say that's the way the cookie crumbles, but then I'd have to strike myself with something blunt.

Ll: Quite.

It's a fan script for an O&M strip. Funny.

Edit: Well, now you've got me curious as to what would hapen if Ozy and Millie started a lemmonade stand.

Hmm, maybe a good idea to give to DC when he's low in new material fuel.

Zen lemonade...actually, there was this strip in early 1998 with Ozy running a lemonade stand, and it looks like it went alright. How much can you expect from a lemonade stand?

the current layout is set for thre pannels, correct? if it was made into a four pannel thing, then the quote that came from the busines venture could be seen as a scene from a flashback, with a person standing at a counter being handed a scone.

I can see that as an actual strip.

Well, glad you like it and all, but I didn't really have a strip in mind when I wrote this. To tell the truth, I wasn't really thinking that much of Ozy and Millie when I first thought of this. Rather, I was thinking of Red Dwarf (which I understand Rain is a big fan of), because the characters on that show have a tendency to go on non-sequitorial rambles (like Lister's infamous "Smart Shoes" soliloquy). And when I finally came up with the whole thing, it just sort of struck me as something Llewelyn would say, and I figured a failed lemonade stand would be a good context for it.

Now that I think about it, it would be more O&M friendly if it concerned Millie and a failed "Wheatgrass Juice" stand, and Ozy just happened to be there to deliver the "Cookie Crumbles" line.

Yeah, but that would add more confusion than it's worth to have the characters... I don't know. It's complicated.

I don't think Lister's smart shoes thing was a soliloquy, as he was talking to Rimmer ar that point.

And Simpson is a Red Dwarf fan? that's made my day that one!
I love red dwarf =D

I personally liked the one where they made a canary turn into a dinosaur, namely a tiranasorus rex.
