Screen Resolution
Moderator:Æron
I thought it would be reasonable to find out what resolution people are using, as this would help especially with regards to how good/bad wallpaper looks, and how large any images are going to appear for people.

I'm on 1280x1024.

No, it isn't =)
Everyone's answer is needed on this, to get a representative idea.
I just thought of it becuse 800x600 wallpapers are to me completely useless without editing, because it looks horrible stretched out to such an extent.

It's a problem inherent with the subject matter, of course.

I only have a 15" monitor (from 1997) and it only goes up to 1024x768, where I keep it. I used to have it on 800x600, and when I switched to 1024x768, I though everything looked too small on the screen. Now I'm glad I have the screen space. Geez, you people have some high-res monitors. I could use a new one; mine has a few scratches.

maybe thats because your screen is 1024x768 pixels, DUH! i had the same problem back when i used the default, 800x600. computer programmers sure are dumb
pants jesus
DCS should've ended the comic a year or two ago.
Dumb for what reason, using 800x600 as the default?

And yes, i know what you mean about initially disliking the increase to 1024, Ozymandius, I really do. Since our first computer, I have been gradually racking the resolution up over the years, and each time I increase it, i find it horribly small, until i get used to it, and it gets so I just can't live without the screen area!

My home computer is almost always set to 800*600 at 16-bit color depth and sometimes 24-bit if I'm editing images. When I view images, though, I can go as high as 1024*768 on this computer, but it flickers if I set it to true color at that res. The monitor is better than the PC's video card, unfortunately. Sometimes if I'm doing a lot of stuff, I'll lower the res so that it puts less strain on processing.

The laptop's native res is 1024*768, I think. I didn't bother trying to see if it goes any higher since that is definitely enough for my needs.
