I'll be off to Luxembourg for a camping holiday from the Friday the 25th to Wednesday the 30th. We'll be staying in a tent, at this camping site. Of course that means I won't be able to do anything here, and you probably already noticed the lack of coloured strips. I might catch up, I don't know. But you can expect some good pics when I get back, if you crazy looneys don't turn this place upside down.

Those of you who visit the IRC channel probably already know, so here's the announcement for the non-IRCers.

Furries? Are they the nutters that pretend to be animals and draw humans that look like animals? Christ, I sink my head into my paws... -Rooster

Hahaha!
Well I'm not gone just yet, but I'm tending to the last little bits. And of course there's the fun part of stuffing it all into the car. Good thing we have a Renault Kangoo, so there'll be plenty of room.
Leaving tomorrow morning at 11 CET.

Hey everyone, back again! And I have a whole bunch of photos to show, as I promised.
Warning: Not for the low-bandwidthed!
Day 1
On our way to Luxembourg, we stopped in the middle of the High Fens (Hautes Fagnes) to admire the scenery. There really was no one out there... except for me.

Day 2
And then, with the tent up...
There's me showing my face!
Me stuffing stuff in the tent
A bit of a view of the camping site from our little spot.

The tent...
...and the car...
...and a bit of empty space...
...and a bit more view...
...and more.
Tent and car. Our home and transport for the next 5 days.

Just a short drive from the camping site, near Berdorf, we found this rock formation.
Pic

Gaia going into the dark depths...
Followed by a rather dark me.
Smiiiile! (and a rather ugly one at that)
The gaps in the rocks were pretty small.
Sometimes they were just big enough to squeeze through.
But more than anything it was DARK.
...and rocky.
Be being a little active, whoo!
Me having LOTS of fun!
Some of the stuff we saw around that rock formation.

Me again...
...and the hole I left behind.
A very green view.
Onto that big rock that was hanging over the road...

In a parking garage in the German city of Trier, I noticed this rather humorous number plate.
Trier city centre and market square.

The Porta Nigra in Trier, a remnant of the old Roman city of 'Treverorum' (Deus Ex 2 players might recognise this)
Back at the tent...
Mmm food...
Oh noes he's taking teh pix of my burgor!
Day 3
Heading into France!
And back out again before we got to take anymore pics, cause here we're back in the German city of Saarlouis. A few shots of the (crowded) market square:

More pics as we strolled through the city centre...

At the end of the day, enjoying some rest. We had a camera, we were bored... you can guess the rest.

Getting in touch with my feral side.
Fiddling around with my portable radio.
Mmmmmm crisps...
...and fooooood
A little view of the camp site from the tent.
A little view of our shoes from the tent.
A little view of some random stuff in the tent.
Day 4
Me enjoying the evening air while being totally stupid.

Total knockout.
Another view.
Yay! She found the exit!
Me looking boring.
...don't ask.
Some people reinvent the wheel. I reinvented the pillow.
Some close-up shots of myself and Gaia.

Haha you have a bowl on your head!
Gaia, Queen of all that is nutty. And of everyone who happens to put bowls on their head.
Day 5
Some shots of our visit to Beaufort castle.

And then our visit to the nearby town of Echternach.
A rather overbrightened view of the town square.
Town square.
And then of course, me being a bit of a border freak, this couldn't escape my attention.
At 5-10 minutes walk from the Echternach town square, there was a bridge. But the bridge also formed the border between Luxembourg (with Echternach) and Germany (with another part of the original town, named Echternacherbruck). But unlike in most other places, the borders in the EU are open and free to cross without checks whatsoever. All you see is remnants of old checkpoints, that have fallen into disuse.
The end-of-place sign for Echternach, with the entrance to Germany visible across.
The entrance into Germany. The barrier was stuck into the 'up' position and was unused.
Across the bridge, a sign pointing back across to the Luxembourg side.
Another end-of-place sign, this time on the German side.
The river. The opposite side is in Luxembourg.
Coming back into Luxembourg.
View of the bridge from the side.
The bridge again, from the Luxembourg side.
And then...
...a bit of an unfortunate combination on this German number plate. ('BIT' is the code for Bitburg, a nearby town)
One last look at the bridge.
And then finally another little walk through the forest.
