Same here. It's the most love I'll probably ever have. After thinking for a while back on the relationships I've ever had and the lack of attraction I've had, I think I may be somewhat like Gizensha. Asuxual due to a form of autism...

It is the problem is the English only has one work for love so it get over used and the meaning get diluted.

I'm not actually asexual (though, within autistics the percentage of asexuals is higher than within the general population, apparantly). I just recognise that there are many types and degrees of love, friendship being the lowest non-family sort.

Going back, I myself met my fiancee online. And when we actually met, that's when I realised it's just not the same. I agree, friendship is a form of love.

No, you're right.

And osprey - Of course it's not the same. But that doesn't mean it's either better or worse. Far less physical is the main minus, but positives include no social pressures (such as that horriably stressful thing called 'eye contact'), I don't have to do something that comes as naturally to me as playing the piano (i.e. - read facial expressions and body language), and no-one cares if I 'stim'. Oh, and the whole 'meet people from different cultures' thing.

It's not better, it's not worse, it's just different. And it's just as real. Additionally - no-one should apply their preferences to anyone else.

I think the McEnglander bit kinda gives the fact he's being sarcastic away :)

And is a bizarely good guess on his part. Why yes, I am half English and half Scottish... Have you been stalking me?

FWIW, in earlier times, friendship, not romance, was considered the highest form of love. That's why you see more intense friendships in archaic epics like the Song of Roland.
