For what it's worth, I first discovered Something Awful through a link on the old "Ozy and Millie" site's Links page. (Link if you don't believe me.)Anyone who posted that d****d site in their posts will be punished if the goons troll this place.

I was actually referring to a more specific aspect of that idea of parody: the idea of taking a notable all ages character and have them spout curse words just for the shock value of it. I say it's too easy because anybody can draw Millie saying F*** or whatever. There's no real comic creativity in that.Yeah, characters acting as their opposites is easy to do.Besides, this sort of parody just seems too easy to me.
I think that really depends on the context in which the swearing takes place. Sometimes swearing in art (in whatever form) can be quite appropriate and have a specific reason for being there that reflects an overall theme or message. Of course, there are certainly other instances where the use of swears are exactly as you put it.I've always thought that using profanity was a sign that you''re either too stupid to express yourself any other way, or just a complete idiot.

I understand where you're coming from, but that's the entire point and what makes it so hilarious.I've always thought that using profanity was a sign that you''re either too stupid to express yourself any other way, or just a complete idiot.

Oh sure, I mean, I'm not saying you shouldn't find it funny or anything. Just explaining one person's definition of humor. Besides, sometimes the easiest road to take can even create the funniest result. Humor's a tricky genre. That's what I meant in my post. But I know everyone's sense of humour is different, some can find it funny while others don't.I say it's too easy because anybody can draw Millie saying F*** or whatever. There's no real comic creativity in that.
