A brief history of the post counts...

Post counts were at one time given a big "oooh, ahh" as members earned an extra pip for crossing 10 and 100 (and later 1000) posts. Then came the first few forum games to hit DC. After a 10-20 page "Post About the Poster Above You" post war (or should I say flood) got more than a few members their 100-post pips, we decided to shove the games to another subforum where the posts didn't count anymore. Post numbers meant something again, and life finally calmed down.

Then came some -very- prolific members whose posts, to be honest, didn't make much sense. I think those posts are to blame for why we are all so bizarre around here. That kinda threw out the meaning for post counts altogether except possibly to some on the leader board.

Heh I remember that post flood. I think there was about 2 or 3 posts per minute in that topic at times.

Eh, in the end it all works out good, you kinda know who the regulars are as compared to the randoms that sign up, make a few posts, then move on.

Most of the really good members here have been around for quite some time, though I'm obviously not trying to say anything bad about the newer regulars, they're awesome in their own way
