Metaphorically speaking, how would you feel if someone spat on your face, claimed it was due to spotting a speck of dust, and then, after you complained, reluctantly wiped their saliva off with a dirty rag and a scowl?

 sorry! Your muscles are just going to be so hard to draw. Your character might just take me an extra hour to get right :? . I'm still going to do it anyways!

After the rest ya? And Niner, just to cheer you up I have an especially good one planned for you. Think of it as a sort of homage to a classic cartoon LOL. You'll see!

Yeah, well in my metaphorical situation, it's a bit too late to say sorry when you scowl at the person you spat on while cleaning them off with that dirty rag. You already had ample opportunities earlier: right after the initial spit (which would've been considered an accident in said situation; this would be on page 2 of the discussion in question), or after that first rationalization (which would've been attributed to incompetence; this would be pages 3 or 4), provided of course that you quickly cleaned up after. (You had a 20-hour window, in other words, that would've at least let you save some face.)

Instead, now it comes off like you're only doing it because you think I'll treat it like some magical "it never happened" word...

 sometimes I hate myself. I never like looking back into the past and only find regret. And that all I see there. Don't make it any harder. No confidence in my own work tends to make me scared when I try something different. Your character had so much stuff that would be new for me to make that it alone was daunting now that I am making this with pencil and not ink. I was never that good with those muscles and hence not confident. Sure it was a joke at first but thats over with. Now that I got back into drawing I feel better about how to go about this. I have done plenty of bad stuff and I would personally rather forget it rather than let it snag and rip my heart out. Don't make this any harder. I'm never good at saving face because I don't know when to do it and so it often comes late. The best I can do is offer the muffin and say the sorries and get that awful feeling in the chest again that won't leave.

Look, ideas changed. It was originally a group pic, now I am doing individual portraits. I have more time to work on individual pieces and make them good one by one rather than struggle with a single large project where a single mistake can spell doom for the whole. Now I can make those mistakes without hurting the other drawings. Thats just me, I'm spontaneous. I come up with something and something completely different comes out of it. Sage's colored pic was originally a standing pose but as I drew it changed to a sitting pose and a completely different idea. Same went for JR's, originally he was to be a bit angry over a stolen acorn but now it is surprise over a cameo. Things change when I do this stuff and when it comes to you it is no different. I didn't want too many people in a group, then I went off to portraits. I have the time for you now sir, so please just don't make this harder on me  .

When I started my last reply, all I saw was ":( sorry!" as Donnie's message.

As for my metaphor, did you notice how I mentioned the speck of dust? That matches up with the muscles he used as his original excuse not to draw me, something that is an optional feature (muscles is something a lot of people abstract out of drawings, since every living thing has them), as I said before, in the original thread, though it was obviously ignored.
