Only today did I notice that Ms. Sorkowitz had called Felicia's report "very adequate." Those are the same words used by a snob in "Zits" to compliment Jeremy's paper, which she expected to get a C. If Ms. Sorkowitz is having trouble complimenting other reports, maybe Millie will get lucky with a curve.

very adequate is not redundant. If somethign reaches a certian level it is adequate. Very is an adverb meanign mroe so. While it may not make sence thatone somethng reaches a certian point that it cannot reach that point any more the term aplies lieks ayign a number is very greater then 3 as oposed to mearly greater then 3. A better way to say this woudl be much greater then 3 but soemthign being much accurate dosnt; make any sence.<br><br>Verry adiquate goes mroe then sayign mearly adiquate because it is does mroe then what it woudl take to be mearly adiquate.

by saying very adequate you're <b>not</b> saying that it's more than adequate, just that it's pretty gosh dang adequate

DCS should've ended the comic a year or two ago.

I disagree. By saying "very adiquate" instead of just "adiquate" one says that it does more then justs meats the standards it goes beyond that. Not only did somebody do the job they did it better then what was required. By drawling the disticion that the thing beign complemented could be worse and still be good enough that there is soemthign of a good well meanign complement there.

I didn't say it wasn't a compliment I'm saying its not much of one. Adequate is like acceptable. Its not the best but it'll do. A better compliment would have been a simple "good report."<br><br>Then again, this is Ms. Sorkowitz we're talking about.

I've just noticed that norsenerd has a lot of typos <!--emo&:blink:--><img src='http://definecynical.mancubus.net/forum ... /blink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='blink.gif' /><!--endemo--> .

I do have a lot of "typo's" They arn;t exaclt typo's... bah<br><br>Anyways I actully think "very adiquate" and "very acceptable" are both better complemetns then "good report". Not "excelent report"; that woudl be a better complement.<br><br>That's me though.

yeah but "very adequate" was being sarcastic on her part, since it wasn't really a <i>book report</i> in the first place.
