Sounds like the pronunciation is similar to DC's way, with the emphasis being put on the first syllable rather than the second. I can actually picture that being said in a Welsh accent.

To pronounce words like the Welsh you need to add a coal miners cough and the bitter twang of poverty.

That'd be the South Welsh.
To pronounce words like the Gogs (North-Welsh), you need about 3 gallons of phlegm in your throat.

Thankfully... I'm from Mid-West Wales... which doesn't suffer from either of the aforementioned problems.

Wouldn't remember... but it is quite true. My brother does a better North-Welsh accent than I do, and I attribute it to him being a smoker his whole life.

You know how homosexual people can get away with calling other people "fag" and darker-skinned people have this unhealthy tendency to call each other "nigga" on a regular basis?

Before you go losing the context of what I was indirectly asking.... do you consider it offensive to reference acts which themselves might be deemed offensive?

For the record, I'd just like to say that I've been on about the correct pronounciation of Llewellyn for ages, and that I SEE ALL!

It still doesn't beat Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch though, with its two consecutive ll's.

What is perhaps even more ridiculous is that not only can I pronounce that perfectly... but I know the whole word without having to look it up anywhere...

... Strange. I had it the other way around. I was technically born a dirty Saes... but blueshifted over to Wales after a mere 5 short years in Surrey...

I was born and raised, and still live in one state, and if anyone can claim to have the "Northwest" accent, it's me. People even ask me where I'm from. I say "Here."
If anyone wonders, I've always pronounced Llewellyn as LUU-wil-linn. That's the Northwest accent for ya. There are lots of "ih"s spread about in words. For example: Willamette is often pronounced will-AAH-mitt or will-AAH-met by locals. The middle syllable is not stressed much more than the others.
