O&M Voices
I've been considering doing voice acting in the O&M Video Game. I've tried my best at the different characters, but so far I can only get a decent Locke and OZy. So, if you think you've got a voice cut out for the characters, or ieven if you're kinda close, but not quite, post a little snippet of a quote or sommat. And don't forget that I can also change pitches and such in glaring quality due to freeware.

Sound on! Sound off!

yes but I was twelve and had a higher voice. or at least that's what I'm willing to say to not have to do this. we had a whole thread at once. I'll find it for you, BB.

ETA: click.
pants jesus
DCS should've ended the comic a year or two ago.
Yes, yes, but I need to have someone who can also voice... for.. the... game...

Righto!

For the voices of the chipmonks in Alvin and the Chipmonks, for example, they modified the pitch by speeaaakiiiing slooooowly aaaaand theeeen plaaaayiiiiiing iiiiit iiiiin doooouuuubleeeee speeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed (or somesuch), apparantly. Wait. that's more for a squeaky voice than a higher pitched one, isn't it? Eh, play around, I guess.

I'll provide samples of myself for you, happily, but I currently don't have anywhere to upload to (that I remember the password for, anyway) and so will have to e-mail you them.

I don't think I'll be able to do a very good anyone, but I can but try. I've always imagined Llewellyn to have the stereotypical posh english accent (think Stephen Fry for an approximation of what I mean there), but feel that Llewellyn is a somewhat Welsh name, for some reason, and know from experience of watching tv that a thick yorkshire accent doesn't sound bad on a dragon in the right circumstances (see if you can find a copy of an episode of Chorlton and the Wheelies to see what I mean there).

Well, somewhere in the archives Millie's mom says that he has a Victorian accent. I always think Gregory Peck, but he's dead anyway.

Nonetheless, Audacity, the sound program I use, can edit pitches without changing the speed of the sound. I can say a few lines in a normal voice, raise the pitch 17.6 DB and voila, a 10-year-old's voice outta my low resonace.

Err... Hold on and I'll upload these to my webspace and have them running in a second.

EDIT: Nevermind. Even zipped up they are way too big. I'll just export them to a better format and rezip them and THEN upload them. This will take a bit longer.

EDIT 2: Alrighty. OGG works perfectly. Now you can all laugh at me.

Dang, if I had a microphone...

Here's my take on your voices:
For Ozy and Locke, their quotes were a little to short for me to judge.
Llewellyn's voice sounds a little less British than I imagined.
And I agree with you on the rest of them, except the "Ugh" at the beginning of Jeremy's voice sounds great.
First attempt at Llewellyn is... Better than I expected, actually.

I havn't heard any ten-year olds in a while, so bear with me.

Here's my take on Millie. It's two parts, really. The first has a raised pitch and the second is the original. And I hope that accent is just my crazy ears.

Enjoy!
Other than being somewhat incomprehensible, the second one was excellent. (What WERE you saying, anyway?)

I could probably pull off... any female character. But alas, no mike. And nothing to record with now even if I did.

Though it's odd with O&M... I've always heard them with voices when they speak but... I don't know what voices they have. I don't really know how to describe it well.

Heh. I have that same problem. At least with Millie. That's most likely the reason that she's the hardest to voice.

Ah, lemme try slowing it down a bit. What did you use to record this and change the pitch?

EDIT: Aha, got it to the right speed. That sounds almost exactly how I imagine Millie would sound. Any way you can record it a bit closer to the mic or louder? Amplifying it brings down the quality a bit more than I'd like it to.
