Wow, that's weird. Cool though, lol 'yerf', what does that mean?
It's the sound your dog makes when you skritch him behind the ears. :D

Cameron is awesome because:
-Because he has an artistic style that is both complex and minimalist. This is profound!
-He once drew me as a roadrunner. It was an actual honest to god feral roadrunner, but a roadrunner nonetheless!
-He lives in Idaho among the wilderness and stuff and I envy him for that. 3:
-He is probably one of the most personable artists on here.
-I think he's the only one of us on here who drew a fanart that made it as a guest strip on O&M. This is an accomplishment!

I've seen "yerf" most often used to represent the bark of a fox. It's also (according to my sources) a website that deals with hosting some of the more "family friendly" furry art. But mainly, I use it for the former (thus elaborating slightly on my signature.)

I don't define all that dA stuff as porn.
Hmm, Merriam-Webster may agree with you. Apparently, art that's designed to arouse is not porn unless it also depicts erotic behavior. So a photo of a sexy naked woman who looks like she's waiting for a bus is not porn.

Damn straight. Society is WAY too uptight about nudity in my opinion.

You could move to Germany. They're far more relaxed about nudity there. (Just don't expect to get games that aren't very violent at all to be completely uncut)

The Wayback Machine is an internet archiving website. It takes "snapshots" of websites, showing you how the website looked in the past. But who cares about all that? :P

The thing I was referring is right here
Anyone else here wander the Wayback Machine looking for deleted comic strips? :)

You get to learn fun stuff like how DCS used the current format for a brief time in 2001, a few unreleased strips (November 2nd, 2002 for example, a classic), rough strips he did in 2000 and little notices. Very fun stuff :)

Actually, I think what you're referring to is how, over the holidays at the end of that year, I ran the holiday-themed comic I'd drawn for the Plan Nine Publishing Christmas annual the previous year. It's also contained in (warning: book plug) The big Book of ancient, Semi-Coherent wisdom: Ozy and Millie 2000-2001.
a few unreleased strips (November 2nd, 2002 for example, a classic),
...remind me which one that is? I would have said the archive did not contain any official comics that aren't still in the archive, so if I got sloppy and left something out (say, last time I moved the site), I do want to know.

I should make a special section for all that stuff.

I'm busy, though, and a terrible procrastinator; if someone else wanted to assemble it it'd dramatically increase the chances of me putting it up. ;)

I was referring to barking. Speech is an entirely different thing. Generally, like humans, we speak with an accent and dialect that reflects those that we've been exposed to. Thanks to the feline side of my family, it took forever to break me of the habit of saying "nya." It can get irritating when someone ends or begins every sentence with a strange word, nya?

Also, very good idea about putting up a section for strips that didn't end up in the actual comic. I'd definitely read through it.

According to the Richard Adam's book The Plague Dogs which I was making a joke about animal noises and animal talking is the same.

I've been meaning to read that book. I've read Watership Down, but never got a chance to read Plague Dogs.
And depending on your point of view, it can be different. Humans may see it as barking, canines as speech. Then again, it could just be the subtitles getting to me again. I have an English to Vulpine translator, you know. *yerf* has such a subtle and complex meaning that it cannot even be translated into any of the human languages. The tiniest chnge in inflection can give it an entirely new meaning. The closest approximation I can think of is "Narf." Pinky would understand. And I guess that's not human, either. *sigh* Humans and their limited communication through mostly verbal speech...

Ahhh, I wish I could afford those right now :(

I'll see what I can put together. I could also put together an art page if you want.

Ah, THAT extra strip. If memory serves, I retroactively inserted it into the regular archive, some time in 2000.

Which reminds me, I need to update the archives to the new site style. Sigh.

Cool. But you should probably let me worry about the art page. I have access to art you don't. :)

Cool, I'll have to check out the archive.

Edit: Yep, July 30, 2000 :)
