Okay, I've pretty much made up my mind.
His name is Rish. (This name was submitted on another forum.)
The epic is named Lontranus. (Which we will pretend is the Latin name for 'otter.' There isn't a real word for otter that I can find anyway. And just calling it Otter sounds too much like Digger, which I am ripping off too much already.:) Anyway, thanks Tom!)
I've gotten all kinds of neat names, though, so I'll be well stocked with supporting and incidental characters for a long time. Thanks everyone!

For your general edification, here's a list of the five parts my epic will consist of, each anticipated to be about 100 pages long:

Bk 1: A Stranger and a Wanderer upon the Earth
Bk 2: Gilgamesh
Bk 3: The Wheels of the Gods
Bk 4: The Brother of Jared
Bk 5: The Horsemen

Most of you probably won't like it when I start getting later in the story, because of the heavy religious overtones. :) But that's afar off.

Right now, I'll be putting the first 3 pages up on WCN later today and I'll favor you with a link. Thanks again.

Cameron is awesome because:
-Because he has an artistic style that is both complex and minimalist. This is profound!
-He once drew me as a roadrunner. It was an actual honest to god feral roadrunner, but a roadrunner nonetheless!
-He lives in Idaho among the wilderness and stuff and I envy him for that. 3:
-He is probably one of the most personable artists on here.
-I think he's the only one of us on here who drew a fanart that made it as a guest strip on O&M. This is an accomplishment!

Tell me what you think!
(Goodness, Tabris, we almost need a special thread just for O&M fans talking about their own comics, don't we?):)

Yeah, your style really gives the "comic" (I use that term loosely, as it would seem this "comic" won't be particularly comical),
a very story book type feel, like some old legend from bygone days.
It'll be interesting to see where this goes.

I'm going to take a random stab at it and say Dylan.
That could have fit actually. Dylan Eil Ton was the God of the waves in Welsh mythology.
If it hadn't been decided already I was going to suggest calling him... Ishmael.

Cameron, it looks like a nice comic. Just from these strips I got an idea of what it might be about but I'm probably wrong. Care to explain the story in general, or do you want to keep it secret for now?

The secret one.:) I do have the basic outline of the entire story written out, but it's still changeable enough and it gets interesting soon enough that I prefer to keep it under my hat. I'm already halfway through drawing page 4 though!

The art style's pretty neat. Is that crosshatching or something? I'm always impressed by those things.

Yup. Every line of which I draw on the computer. There is this really neat pen tool that I use too much that does wonderful crosshatching. That's also why my art style sort of resembles Ursula Vernon's (though she is better, of course)--it's because we use the same program to draw our comics. :)
Anyway, with the crosshatching I'm totally ignoring Scott McCloud's advice about not doing it. :-P

I just posted the fourth page, in which we see the hero's face and meet another character. (Not a regular until way in the future fortunately, because he's really hard to draw!)

OT: In other news, it's my birthday. I'm 19.

1) Do you have an update schedule? Or at least an idea of how often you're going to be updating? You know, just so I know when to check for new ones.

2) Happy birthday!

1) Not really, though you'd be safe checking weekly I think. However, since it is on Webcomics Nation you can subscribe to either a RSS feed or a mailing list so you know when there is an update!

2) Thanks!
