Construction Paper Rings

These, I'm certain, are only popular because they contribute to the self-esteem of kindergarteners. You don't see construction paper ring garlands for sale anywhere. They either come from school or some grotty rainy-day crafts book. So you throw them on the tree, then take them down and toss them in the God's Eye/Lanyard/Fingerpainting closet. Meanwhile, those of us without kids use that closet space to store excellent scotch and racy DVDs. D+

Interesting. I don't have kids, but I use my closet space for clothes.

I guess that makes me weird then.

Perhaps Millie should see about being the Ghost of Christmas Futures. Of course, she wouldn't be quite so silent.

And if she'd been clumsy in making the paper chains, she could be the Ghost of Christmas Paste.

She only looks taller because she's wearing her nighting gown which covers up her legs.

Plus the perspective of her being in front of her mom.

Heh, I wonder what colors her nightgown has?

I'm going to have to say this is one of my favourite strips of all time. I haven't actually laughed out loud at one for a while, but this one did it for me.

I think it's interesting that Millie, tomboy that she is, nonetheless wears a nightgown instead of pants-style pajamas. I only know what I've noticed from flipping through Kmart and Sears ads that come in the paper, but I didn't think they even made that kind anymore.

But then, they don't make Lincoln-style silk top hats to fit ten-year-olds either.

But the hat was Llewellyn's who might have got it in the Victorian era (or maybe inherited).
