Furries and Spore

Postby TailTyger » Fri Jun 09, 2006 5:22 am

So I was at E3 and one the upcoming games I am really most excited about that I saw there, was Spore.

and I am thinking, this game is going to a huge hit with furries (aside from beinga huge hit with everyone else too)

I mean in Secondlife, you can be One individual furry. Imagine Spore, you could create not just an individual furry anthro. but an entire society and civiliztion of them. they would even become spacefarring and able to travel through an entire universe.

I can't wait for it, and I am predicting that Will Wright's geniouswork will we extrememly popular all around, but especially with furry fans.

DCS should've ended the comic a year or two ago.

It's not really the oppurtunity for furry characters that interests me, though it's a good option.

A little late to jump on the band wagon, aren't you, considering it was unveiled at last years E3 (well, it was unveiled at last years GDC, but I digress).

Speaking of - has any new info on it been revealed since last years E3?

SPORE is going to be intresting, I'll give it that much, but the game play potential is extreamly limited. While I can see the motivation behide such a game, I realy don't think the entertainment value will be a 'replayable' thing, and after the first two or three races are out in the universer, it'll become something players will turn too if they get really, really board. (kind of like DiskWorld Noir)
The more important matter is its algerrythmic evolution system, which is not only unique but has far reaching implications in other games and practical aplications.
However, I resurve final judgement for after the game's releace. I doubt that I'll actualy get it, but there's bound to be a demo or two I can get my mits on

From what I've seen there's going to be a load of evolutionary options, I dunno but I don't think I'll get bored of it so easily.

I haven't looked into it much. I've never been big on online gamming, but with y'alls's opinion of it I may look into it.
(...ha... y'alls's... I can't believe I just typed Pittsburghanese)

from what I saw in the video, it's not actually online in the normal sense. the internet is only used for recieving other people's worlds so that yours can interact with a truly unique universe.

So, your disappointment is 100% wrong, Jack!

This, among other reasons, is why when(or if) I get this game i'm unplugging my computer from the internet.

oh, sry if there was already a topic about this, but i thought it would be of interest, because not only can you make make an anthro character (or any other type of creature for that matter), but eventually you can make an entire culture/civilization of them...

to me that represents an entirely new gameplay method as well as an entirely new way to roleplay/ visualize creative fantasy.

I'm really excited about it and think it will probably make my list of all time favorite games

I really like the creative aspect of it- I was one those people who, as a kid, always used to like building things with various materials- Legos, clay, plastic models etc.

this game is in the same train of thinking as those things

I don't doubt that I'm the only one here who wants to play Spore and create a race of furry, bipedal, humanoids, among other things, am I?

Oh good, because I'd rather play it alone, experiment with the options and take my time. Plus I'm not too big on playing online with other people.
