Predictable but still made me chuckle.
The joke is standard but it's the way it's told that makes it funny. One thing I like about this strip is that the characters are very expressive without resorting to exaggeration, such as oversized eyes etc.

Not original, yes, but very well delivered. I imagine it as the same tone of voice all the way through (the text style helps).
