Here they really are sitting in a tree. I hope the bullies don't see.

I have issues with the notion that sports build character. I don't deny that the occasional athlete has character, I just think those particular people had it going in.

DCS doesn't realize that stereotypes aren't real. I bet somebody once told that most people who are involved with sports are perfectly normal and not idiotic bullies and he spit out his pop.

Well, Jeremy and Felicia were both based on people he knew. And for all the jocks = teh evul in the comic, we only really see Jeremy harassing the protagonists. It might be like in El Goonish Shive where there's this one bully and the rest of the athletes think he's a dick. Or I might be putting too much thought into it.

This. Plus, it's not at all that way in the school system, where everyone simply turns a blind eye to bullying, and actualyl supports it.

I always viewed these school comics as purely fictional as I never hear of this happening.
