Ah, word balloon fun. As a kid, I decorated a bland fridge magnet by gluing on a cut-out drawing I made of a surfer yelling, "Hang tight!" I was proud of myself, until my sister pointed out that he was yelling with his armpit.

Last week, the word balloon stem placement in "Mark Trail" was so bad that my mom and I both read the comic for a change. ("Why is that bear doing the talking for them?")
