I like the whole message given about certain webcomics and their readers. I can only guess if David had any particular comics in mind when he drew this. I also like the colouring on the little stars.

I personally like comics that challenge my beliefs or add a contrary view to the mix. Its a welcome change from those comics that seek to please everyone by including nothing that could be construed as offensive.
