Once I was at a religious gathering that ended with an unusually long prayer session, even tho there hadn't been any big tragedies of late. I stayed for 50 minutes, then excused myself by saying I should bring myself closer to godliness by showering. Seems I chose my words well: they laughed appreciatively.
