Suffice it to say, lupine and canine anatomy is a bit different.

When Ozy is facing right, he has his legs crossed skirt style. When hes facing the left, he has his legs crossed pants style.
Meh, whatever's comfortable. Me, I've got a couple leg injuries make it easier to sit the "wrong" way, so that's what I do more often.

Otherwise, this whole story-arc... heheh, yeah, some of the things I created as a kid... I shudder.

I'm thinking Millie's got a solid angle here. Wonder what trouble she'll get into with a new bike?

Well, regardless, it's still officially the skirt style of sitting.

Quote:

Blah, then I'll just do it "wrong" to piss people of

Remember what Llewellyn said about how there are two sides to subjugating yourself to popular opinion...

well, I do sit in the "normal" way for a guy to cross his legs too, but that doesn't really work in my computer chair. and therefore, most of the time I don't sit like that like DCS, I've noticed that my dad does the same. perhaps I just don't have my legs so tight together as to be uncomfortable? or maybe I have no nerve endings
pants jesus
DCS should've ended the comic a year or two ago.

I mean, usually people who wear baggy pants think about being "cool" too much to sit like a girl, and the boys who don't care usually don't wear baggy pants, so it's easier to crush your...assets...under your leg. Unless you actually reach in and pull it out of the sandwich you make, which is what I have to do.

Or maybe your friends are compensating and their entire leg isn't resting on the other leg entirely, so it's like combining the male and female way of sitting.

I used to sit the skirt way, until my peers in the 7th grade persisted in telling me not to do it. I got the impression that even resting my ankle on my knee was wrong, until I saw it more. (Yes, a flying fox can do this; take my word for it.)

As The Bird Cage implied, sitting the skirt way may be more common in gay men. Ozy doesn't think he "likes" guys, but seeing as he hasn't developed a manifest libido, it's hard to tell.

I think Ozy's apparent change of position in that panel is really a matter of difficulty in drawing it right from that angle. But then, just because he meditates a lot doesn't mean that he likes to stay in one position the rest of the time. That was certainly hard for me at age 10, and I think I was more Ozy than Millie.

You know, in all the confusion over "Booger" and the idea of stealing a shipment to your own home, I never realized that the same anchor called Greater Llewellynland both hostile and peaceful. That's really the crux of the satire, isn't it? Not that the strip wouldn't be funny without it.

There's a Far Side cartoon where these cowboys are sitting around a campfire, and one of them is crossing his legs "girl style" and the others are all looking at him and one of them says, "I wouldn't do that if I were you, Slim." Or something like that. It'd have more impact if I posted the comic itself but I don't have it with me.

EDIT: I just realized that, as I typed this, I'm sitting in an inverse of the "guy style" cross: with one leg crossed under the other, so I'm essentially half-sitting on one of my legs. I personally can't sitting with both legs straight down for more than a minute at a time; it just isn't comfortable for some reason.
