Yeah, they are. Millie's expressions here are visually interesting as well <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://definecynical.mancubus.net/forum ... /smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

This joke is actually based on a rule that cartoonists-in-training, like me, hear a lot: "If you're going to have your characters talk, you need to add some visual interest to keep it from being boring." Calvin and Hobbes' wagon is probably the best-known example of this. I like the way Bill Watterson put it: "Whenever the strip started getting philosophical or preachy, I'd just put Calvin and Hobbes in their wagon and send them over a cliff."

The scary part is that ozy had a banana costume conveniently on hand <!--emo&^_^--><img src='http://definecynical.mancubus.net/forum ... /happy.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='happy.gif' /><!--endemo-->

He didn't have it on-hand, he had to go off-panel to go fetch it from the attic or something.
